COVID-19 in DFW: 1,600% Increase in 10 Days

I'm still livid with Collin County for having a "fake" order that allows folks to 'self regulate'.

For example, Denton County and City leaders just sent a letter that NBC 5 says was written in a "desperate" fashion, asking the Governor to build a temporary hospital at the Denton State Living Center, where 7 patients have tested positive.  Before you "dismiss" our disabled, realize 1,400 people like you and me, with families, work there.  So..maybe 3-4,000 others have been exposed and aren't showing symptoms yet.  Officials with Denton say "the worst is yet to come" to the Governor.  His folks arrived within hours.

Gov says he MAY come down with tighter state-wide restrictions, if he continues to see lax orders from local Governments (AHEHM-COLLIN-cough-cough).

Dallas County has 78 more cases overnight, up to 247.  Tarrant's up to 71.  Denton at 70...and that brings us to Collin.

Jaw-Dropper: Top Collin County Official-Administrator Bill Bilyeu-literally said on a local podcast the other day that "testing is one of the biggest questions I get.  if folks should get tested...testing should NOT be the focus."  (that was paraphrased--THIS is not:) "Testing is not the key.  If you feel like you have symptoms, then quarantine yourself; stay home." And "It makes no difference if you test, and it makes no difference to the care of someone..." "If they're not at risk of breathing prolems, there is not a reason to be tested.".  HO LEE COW!!  That's LITERALLY the OPPOSITE of EVERY medical expert I've heard!  The ONLY reason we know we've gone up 1,600% in 10 days is BECAUSE of testing.  It was the KEY to South Korea's AMAZING and SUCCESSFUL campaign to STOP Covid-19.  We are SCREWED in Collin.

Also notable in Dallas: 5 Jail inmates test positive.  Look for those #'s to go WAY up.  Don't dismiss this group; Dr.'s, Nurses and counselors..and guards all have families...Is that another 2-3,000 family members exposed possibly, who's loved ones work there????

We can't know the size of the problem utnil we know how bad it is, and could become.

"Texas is not like Italy"

OK, fine.  How about Louisiana? Governor there says "we're on pace to run out of hospital beds as soon as next week" and "there's no reason to believe we won't be the next Italy".  Ruh-Roh.  Collin, are you listening?

Texas only has 2.9 hospital beds per 1,000.  Italy has 3.2.  South Korea, the most successfull in this fight, has 12!!  That's 3 times what we have.  Are we screwed?

Well, with Covid-19 one patient could infect up to 59,000, since it's almost 3 times more infectious than the flu. Every person passes it to 3.  After 10 layers, that's 59,000.  Collin, are you listening?

lastly: 3 SMU students test positive.  Dallas County's day was the biggest increase yet (collin? who knows?!  Well, by chance, some weren't listening to their leaders and somehow got tested-8 new ones)...Arlington has 15 active cases.  Young folks?? 35 y/o in Melissa just got it...27 y/o in McKinney...41 y/o in Frisco & 54 y/o in Allen..Collin??  Collin??  Hello???
